How do I defrizz my short hair at the beach?

I have a chin-length bob. My hair is pretty frizzy and very wavy underneath. The top layer of hair is strick-straight!! I have to blow-dry and straighten my hair with a flat-iron. So, what can I put into my hair at the beach to calm it down and to look descent. I don't look too hot in headbands either. How do I defrizz my short hair at the beach?
I would bring a light gel...you can even combine gel, water, and leave in hair conditioner. Spray and scrunch your hair after you get out of the water. How do I defrizz my short hair at the beach?
a spray in leave-in conditioner will keep it silky and protect it against the sun and the sand (and the salt water) Use some cute clipsto pull the sides back a little bit (clip at the temples) and embrace the waves. Beach hair is always sexy

When I straighten my hair the ends flip outwards?

I have pretty straight hair naturally but on somedays it gets a little wavy so I straighten it. I have a Conair wet-dry ceramic flat iron with different heat settings and I don' t really know how to work it.

Anyways here is my problem: Sometimes when I straighten my hair, the ends of my hair flip outwards. It's VERY annoying and I don't know why because my hair is not curly. When I straighten my hair the ends flip outwards?
This happens to me all the time!

When you are straightening just turn the iron in towards your face.

And about the differnt heat settings the lower you put it on the harder it will be to straighten your hair. But, the higher you put the iron on the more damage it causes to your hair but it will be ALOT easier to straighten. So you might want to get a heat protection styling spray(if you haven't already). I use Heat Protexx by Nexus, and it has worked really good on protecting my hair!

Good luck and I hope I helped! =]When I straighten my hair the ends flip outwards?
First of all, make sure the straightener is hot enough. Second, be careful in how you straighten. Make sure you do it slow and keep moving the flat iron downwards. Dont flip it up and dont do it too fast! hope this helps =D
this happens to me sometimes when ur straightening ur hair straighten it inword toward ur face works 4 me %26lt;3
well if your straightner has a place to put you fingers on the end, just squeeze on the and pull down on your hair slowly and it should work. my hair is the same way..
you might just be pulling th straightner away as you straighten. try running a comb just ahead or your straightener.
It probably is the way your running the flat iron down your hair. Make sure you don't turn your wrist up when your flat ironing. Also using a comb above the flat iron as your running it down your hair helps. It helps give it a more straight look and gets waves out better.
same thing happens to me, it does flip out at the ends but thats just the heat working on your hair. after like a half an hour your head cools down and your hair should flatten out. If not get a paddle brush and blow dry it. Also, if your straighten your hair wet it for some reason tends to flip out more than when you dry it. My best luck is usually when I wash and condition my hair, blow dry it until its almost completely dry and then take the iron to it. Everyone's head is different so it takes some figuring out to find whats best for your hair. Good luck
well there could be a few things wrong:

1. your hair is cut to flip outwards, if thats what you asked for last time you went to the salon thats what your going to get.

2.your straighten isn't very good, trust me i know, i have used conair. if you want a less expensive flat iron go with revlon, they sell one that has a special rounded edge where you can flip your ends under.
strightnet it at the bottom
mine does that 2 u jus have 2 go over it again and bump your hair under
Okay, this happens to me too.

When you're straightening your hair, hold the straightener inwards. You know what I mean? And when you straighten it, let it run down your hair slowly, then stop at the ends of your hair. It shouldn't flip outwards. Hope this helps!

maybe you should get some of those relaxer stuff

How well do hot air brushes work on biracial hair?

I have really thick and curly biracial hair. My hair is about a 3b on the hair chart thingy and I want to know if I should invest in a hot air brush. I am planning on using it before I straighten my hair with a flat iron to make the process easier. Should I get the one with boar bristles or plastic bristles? How well does it work? What does it do? I greatly appreciate the help :DHow well do hot air brushes work on biracial hair?
If you get a hot air brush it will rip out your hair.Try getting a blow dryer with a pick attachment instead (works really good). It looks like this:http://www.misikko.com/chi-hair-dryer.ht鈥?/a> (you can see the pick attachment bellow it.How well do hot air brushes work on biracial hair?
A hot air brush will not work well on your hair, it is too coarse/resistant. Hot air brushes are basically like using a blow dryer and a round brush, it works really well on people with fine and normal hair, but even Caucasians with thick, coarse hair have problems with it. So in theory it will not work well, and I have also heard from a few bi racial and African-Americans who said that it did not work at all for them. Just use a thermal styling spray with your flat iron.

How to make my hair grow quicker?

I'm half black and half white and I have really curly, ethnic hair. I get relaxers once every couple months, and I usually straighten my hair with a flat iron, so the ends of my hair break off a lot. I usually wrap my hair at night, and I use a lot of products to shield heat before I use my flat iron, but it keeps breaking off anyways! What can I do to keep it from breaking off and help it grow out faster? How to make my hair grow quicker?
Hmmm... I'm white, so I don't know a LOT about ethnic hair, but have you ever thought about chemically relaxing it? In the long run, it saves your hair a lot of damage from the day to day styling of a flat iron.

Secondly, there's not really a proven way to make your hair grow out faster.

I've used a supplement called Biotin in the past, and it personally made my hair seem to grow out longer and quicker, but as for anyone else, I'm not entirely sure. It can't hurt to take it, as it's just a bunch of proteins that are good for your hair when it's growing. It's found in prenatal vitamins, so it's not this weird, foreign substance going into your body.

You can pick up a bottle at walmart or something in the supplement aisle for just a few bucks. :]How to make my hair grow quicker?
Take vitamins like biotin and b vitamins.

Deep condition your hair 2 times-1 time a week

Your hair needs protein so you should deep condition your hair twice or once a month with organic root stimulator hair mayonnaise or vitale hair mayonnaise then deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner or else your hair would be hard from the protein

Eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.

Drink A LOT of water.

Exercise to stimulate hair growth.

Oil your scalp with castor oil + sweet almond oil or coconut oil

Foods rich in vitamin A (dairy products, fish, spinach, apricots), vitamin B (meat, fish, bananas, leafy green veggies), vitamin C (citrus, melon, tomatoes and potatoes) and vitamin E (nuts, broccoli, whole grains) are essential for truly healthy hair. Feel like eating a steak tonight? Perfect. Red meat is rich in iron and zinc, two nutrients proven to help your hair grow its fastest.

You should moisturize your hair and seal it with an oil(like olive oil, coconut oil) daily

follow these tips to repair it

# Have patience.

# Take time out to care for your hair.

# Change your diet to improve the health of your hair and minimize hair breakage. Eat a diet that is high in whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Be sure you are getting enough essential fatty acids, also known as omega-3. Some good sources of omega-3 include salmon, herring, flax seed, walnuts, olive oil and lean meats, among others.

# Take vitamin E and B supplements, or better yet, take a multi-vitamin every day. It may take awhile before you see improved results in your hair, but adding these vitamins to your diet works toward repairing hair breakage from the inside out.

# Use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners every time you wash your hair. Avoid pulling or twisting your hair when washing or drying it.

# Get your hair trimmed regularly to prevent split ends from traveling up the hair shaft to the roots. It is a good idea to have split ends trimmed once a month.

# the first home remedy is a hot oil treatment. This treatment is great for many things, however is perfect for hair breakage

here is a great homemade remedy to treat breakage

* The first home remedy is hair mayonnaise recipe. The first step is to combine and whisk two egg yolks in a small bowl.

* now, cut an avocado into two halves. Remove the skin of one half and place it in a separate bowl. Then use a fork to mash the avocado.

* Add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to avocado and whisk olive oil and avocado together until they are one texture.

* Whisk the egg yolk separately. Then add the yolk to the avocado and olive oil blend; continue whisking until they are one composition.

* Now apply throughout the hair, however concentrate on the areas that need it most (like the ends or hair in back of the head).

* Leave in the hair for about a half hour and then shampoo and condition hair as usual.

* Repeat these steps every 3 days or weekly until there is an improvement in the overall condition of the hair. You should be able to see results after about 2 to 3 weeks. If not, please consult with a professional.
you should get the mane and tail horse shampoo it is not only for horses and the smell its not so bad for a horse shampoo it really works they sell it at walmart in the pet area
Okay first thing, make sure you get a trim every six weeks. This is very important because especially when you straighten your hair (like i do), you hair has lots of dead split ends on it, so when your hair grows, the split ends grow with it, and then break off, so its not really growing. This is why you need to get a regular trim so that those split ends can be cut off instead of breaking themselves off, and will help your hair to grow faster. After each time you get your hair trimmed, be sure to deep condition it.

-Each week massage your scalp with an organic hair oil for about ten minutes, to help stimulate hair growth and increase the blood flow. Try Jojoba Oil, http://www.steadyhealth.com/articles/use鈥?/a> which can be found at Whole Foods stores.

-Make sure you try to get enough sleep (8 hours a night is what you should aim for) because hair grows when you sleep. Also try your hardest to drink 8 glasses of water a day to keep your body hydrated, because when your body is dehydrated your hair stops growing.

-Vitamins! Vitamins like Zinc and Iron are really good for your hair because they make it strong and healthy (which makes it grow!), and look for shampoo and conditioner than contain vitamins like Vitamin A, B, C, Zinc, and Iron, which feed your hair, and make it healthy.

Don't forget once a week to deep condition or use a hair mask. And keep it hydrated by drinking water (like i said earlier) and using hydrating shampoo and conditioner (My favorite is: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration-http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect鈥?/a> Keeping your hair hydrated is really important!

Remember to be patient, as growing out your hair takes time. Just do all the tips i told you and in 3 or 4 months you'll be at the length you want!

Hope i helped! =)

-Jessica
You do NOT have to trim your hair every six weeks, and if your ends are healty you don't have to do it at all, I snip 1/2 inch of my ends off every six monts.

Here goes your tips:

1. Drink lots of water, atleast 8 to 12 glasses, not soda or juice, but water.

2. Eat a diet that is good for your hair. Eggs, Chicken, Peas, Salmon, Carrots, Almonds, and wheat germ are all good for hair growth, there are other foods as well, so do a search on it.

3. Take a multi vitamin. I believe that taking one specifically for healthy hair will give you the best results. I like GNC Ultra Nourishair, it's cheap and you can get em' at Rite Aid.

4. Excercise, cardio and aerobics are great excercises for hair. They get the blood going, and the blood nourishes your follicles.

5. Use products for your hair type (curly, dry, oily, color treated, etc.).

6. Shampoo and condition your hair at least once a week.

7. When you shampoo your hair, make sure you rinse out all of the shampoo. Leaving that shampoo film can dry your scalk and cause itchiness, it can also dry your strands as well.

8. Do a deep conditioning treatment atleast once a month. I actually do this once a week, but you should at least do it once a month.

9. If your hair is extremely dry, do a hot oil treatmen once a month. V05 and Queen Helene makes good ones, and these products are inexpensive as well.

10. Try and get those relaxers every three months if possible. The longer the better. When you relax your hair with less than 1 1/2 inches of new growth, you run the risk of over processing your hair, which causes major breakage in the long run.

11. Don't use your flat iron more than once a week. Wrap your hair around your head and put a silk or satin scarf on it to keep the straightness at night.

12. You said that you used a lot of heat protectants. A good heat protectant is a good thing, but too much of a good thing is bad, so lighten up on the products. Raid your stash so you can see what you really need.

13. If your hair is short at your shoulders, try and keep it off of your shoulders. It would be best to wear it in breads and high ponytails to keep it off your shoulders. Its okay to wear your hair down sometimes, but this can break alot of black peoples hair off. Make sure your breads and ponytails aren't too tight.

14. Don't put grease on your scalp. Grease contains protroleum and/or mineral oil, these are not good for the hair b/c they can clog the pores on your scalp and slow down your growth.

15. When you're sitting down with nothing to do, massage your scalp, it really does stimulate the scalp for healthy growth.

16. Be patient.

Don't go for any get rich quick scheme. If you follow these tips, your hair will eventually stop breaking, just give it a couple months. Healthy hair grows. If your hair is not breaking, it will appear to get longer faster.

Paul Mitchell, Nioxin, Nairobi, Organic Root Stimulator, Aphogee, and Nexxus are excellent product lines.

For more hair tips, go to your local library. Most public library carry books on hair health.
im black and white too. i have more white people hair then black people hair, but my sister has more black hair than white..

dont use relaxers it wont help it grow it will damage your hair in the long run. if you want it straight use a straightener and heat defense spray. thats your best bet. use leave in conditioner. curly hair grows faster. braid it. but if you want it longer stop relaxing it, stop flat ironing it. and use a leave in condi. and regular trimmings. every 6 weeks

Do many people not realize that straightening hair with chemicals and flat irons is damaging to hair?

i wonder if people realize this before they say- straighten your curly hair- press it- perm it-

do they not realize that those chemicals could cause cancer? or yet alone split ends, bald spots?

seriously. you don't know what's in those chemicals or how to pronounce many of them-

some people of certain racial backgrounds aren't supposed to have straight hair- that's just the way it is- why is it such a problem to some? that they can't even look a person in their face when they are biracial or black or hispanic hair because their hair is curly- their hair is just curly- its not a big deal-

its really dumb to me- very vain too- i have some who can't even look me in my face because of my curly puffy hair- its just hair-

that people just say do this- do that- straighten it- i had been straightening it for years and it was falling out- not healthy- not long anymore because i was listening to the wrong people- without even evaluating what the chemicals and flat irons do?Do many people not realize that straightening hair with chemicals and flat irons is damaging to hair?
I get that too.

My hair is (dry textured and fine) yet thick but not oily like alot of white people but prone to split ends as well. But shines. Here is what I did. (Below) I am being silly. Hope you get a laugh out of this.

Keep it REAL and wear your curls. Who cares what people think??

I refuse to fit in a mold of straight hippy hair world!!!

I wear mine it like it is. So what if they look at me crazy they might be just jealuse!!! Because my hair goes bouncy bouncy!!

I just wash and wear my curls no primping straightening required!!

In Fact sometimes I put a little moose or gel to get SUPER CURLS on top of what I have allready! haha!!

Curls rule!!! I love them and we are a blessed people to have ringlets.

Thank you Lord for giving us pretty hair!

I personally think guys love curls.

I come from the 80's where curls and big hair was the thing. It still is in my book. Give it some time it will come back around. Then everyone will want what we have!Do many people not realize that straightening hair with chemicals and flat irons is damaging to hair?

Yes.

We all know that straightneing one's hair is damaging, and sure alot of the products are filled with harsh chemicals. But at this point in today's socety everyone is trying to achieve a look so doing it doesn't seem so bad. People want to look good. Simple as that...

But hey, if you feel confident and attractive letting your hair be however it wants than good for you, I'm sure you rock it quite well :)

good luck
my hair broke off because of it.
I Have curly hair.. =) I Love it but my hair suits me better straightened.. =[
You're so right. It's best for your hair to go AU NATURAL. But it sure wouldn't hurt to use a hair straightner or a hair curler or something everyone once in a while! (Just not too much!) :)

As for your curly hair, I don't mind people with curly hair. God created us all with our personality and hair styles, so why not keep it?
I realize that but it looks better totally straight.
Well I knew they damage hair because obviously you are applying heat and chemicals and making you hair doing something they aren't naturally. And that's really dumb for people not to look at you just cuz of your puffy hair.
People like to ignore this. Even when they know, it's bad.
i used to straighten my hair but it got bad dry, split ends.., i stopped using flat iron now my hair is healthy as ever curly long black shiney hair.. :)

How much does it cost to get hair chemically straightened?

How can i get my dry curly hair to get super straight with a flat iron?

every time i straightened my hair it comes out all dry and ugly

some chicks in school straightened there hair and it is all sleek as if it was naturally straight. what can i use to match that? How can i get my dry curly hair to get super straight with a flat iron?
I would recommend doing a deep conditioning treatment once a week. You should use a regular conditioner every night though.

To get curly hair straight, after your shower you should put some straightening balm in your hair and blow-dry it straight using a round brush. After that, you should flat iron it and spritz shine serum on areas that tend to frizz.

Hope I helped :-)

Good Luck %26lt;3How can i get my dry curly hair to get super straight with a flat iron?
There are straiting serums i think ther called they come in a box and after u get out of the shower you put it in ur hair and they give u this comb and u comb the stuff through ur hair and it will look naturally strait. Much Luck;)
you could use some products before ironing your hair. There are straightening balms out there which you could put on your hair so that it will be easier to iron and the final output would look better
before you straighten your hair put product in it, i suggest J Beverly HIlls Crazy Straight. THen straighten your hair and possibly put J shine drops spray on afterwards. Check with your favorite hair salon for their best product because it will give the best result.

My mom is a hairdresser and J Beverly Hills is her favorite brand

How do i keep my hair straight all day after i straighten it?

My hair is naturally curly, so i use a flat iron every morning to straighten it, and it looks perfect. After a couple hours, my hair starts getting wavy and frizzy! I thought it was because i bought a cheap flat iron, so i bought a new one. It didn't help. Is there something i can put in my hair to keep it straight? Does it have anything to do with the flat iron? What can i do to have perfectly straight hair? How do i keep my hair straight all day after i straighten it?
after you get out of the shower use some straightening cream that works with the humidity. The more humid/hot and sticky it is outside, the quicker your hair will frizz right back up.

Then blow dry it while brushing it at the same time, don't just run your fingers threw your hair while youre blow drying it, actually comb through it.

Then when you're straightening it do it one section at a time, because if you don't straighten the roots then it won't stay straight. i usually part my hair down the middle into pig tails and do the top of ony pig tail first, then the bottom, then switch to the other side.

You can also go to a hair cuttery and have your hair professionally straightened, it's not to expensive and lasts for about a month. If you get it done when it's a little colder outside it'll last even longer.

Good luck! :)How do i keep my hair straight all day after i straighten it?
well, jus before straighteniing your hair, usee a straightenning creamm . and also if u can, blowdry you hair first the straighten it . it gets better straightened then. and to keep it for a while, use hairspray on your hair. that ought to keep it .
hair spray :)
My hair is naturally curly to... and i always straitin

my hair ... i use frizz ease by john freida that shud

help the frizz but i just use hairspray and blow dry

it out wen i can ...
Well i don't think it doesn't have anything basically to do with the straightener. Maybe you wanna try some straightening and frizz control products. So if you take a shower in the morning or the night before or whenever buy Pantene Extra Straight Shampoo and conditioner cause it keeps my hair straight without the hair straightener and my hair is kinda curly too. If you find some other straightening shampoo and conditioner then thats good cause all of them will work. And then use Pantene Frizz Control when you come out of the shower so just put it on your wet hair. Also theres a clinque product i used for straightening hair. BEST PRODUCT EVER. didn't even have to use the straightener! That will help too. And then just blow dry if you find it still too curly just Straighten your hair and put on like the clinque product that will probably help for your hair cause it helped for mine! Hope this works! =)

How to make hair straight without using flat iron/blowdryer.. on fairly straight hair with wavy ends?

I have weird wavy ends. like the last inch or two

I try to make my hair all wavy but it doesn't work

I used a friend's flat iron, but it damages.. and i can't afford one that works.

i chemically straightened my hair once.. I thought it would last awhile.. save money? but it didn't.. and it damaged my hair

anyway, I was wondering if there was a product that would work without using a blowdryer or flat ironHow to make hair straight without using flat iron/blowdryer.. on fairly straight hair with wavy ends?
I'll tell you how. The results are not great though, but it does make your hair appear less curly and a little more on the wavy side.

Actually, I know two. Both have to be done overnight.

Buy some large rollers. Spirtz a tiny bit of leave in spray conditioner (I think Pantene has one) and put some sort if anti-frizz product. Roll your hair tightly around the rolls, and sleep with it on, or for at least 6-8 hours. Unroll your hair out and add more anti-frizz and just a tiny bit of leave in conditoner to add some weight to your hair. the appearance should be slightly wavy to straight hair with lots of body.

Second thing you could do is get your self a pack of large bobby pins. Make sure your hair is free on tangles. Use the leave in conditioner and the anti-frizz like the first suggestion. Separate your hair in four sections. With a fine tooth comb, comb your hair very tightly and against your scalp and wrap around your whole head like a bandage. Secure the piece with bobby pins. Do the same for the other pieces. Make sure they don't have any bumps and that the pieces are smoothed down. If you want, you can get a hair net to keep the pins in place..also works for idea #1. This is something you can sleep with comfortably. I got this idea from how long haired people prep their head if they are wearing a wig. In the morning, remove all the pins and comb your hair. You probably will need to massage your scalp. Do that in a circular motion. Put a styling creme that will weigh your hair down as well as your anti-frizz. The result should be straight with a slight cripped look. If some pieces look out of place, adding a few thin braids can be interesting.

I gurantee no damage.

I hoped this helped. How to make hair straight without using flat iron/blowdryer.. on fairly straight hair with wavy ends?
without thermal stylers like flat irons or blowdryers, you can try straighten or sleek shampoo, conditioner and stylers, but I doubt it will give you the stick straight results you are seeking. When you use a flat iron or blow dryer, be sure you use a thermal style protector and don't flat iron wet hair. VO5 makes some you can get at wal-mart. When blowdrying, make sure you follow the hair shaft from root to end to encourage your hair to lay straight and not damage the hair cuticle and use a ventless brush with natural bristles. Plastic bristles tend to break the hair.
there are lots of products out there in the uk theres john freada thats quite good have you tried cutting these ends off as sometimes it good go wavy due to damaged and split ends straightners are only 拢30 for cheap ones and if you use protective stuff first like a product like loreal it shouldnt damage it or u could try what my mates used to do when they where little use a iron that u iron ur clothes with!!! lol
i know u said no blowdryer or flat irons...but i have really curly hair and hate it..i got a straighter called Remington wet2straight i love it...it really works and is only like 20 bucks at wal-mart...i couldn't find anything, cause the ones i tried made it look frizzy or fried...this one keeps my hair straight all day..

Please help on how to flat iron and curl my hair !!!?

Hi, when i flat iron my thick/ frizzy hair it takes 45 mins. and i usually burn myself!!! how can i not burn myself? i try to hold the hair away from my face but i mess-up. i have been straightening my hair for over 7 years and ahh!! Also how can i curl my hair? sometimes my hair wont hold a curl. help!! Also, i really need a new curling iron and a new flat iron, but i seen on tv there's this new one with little heat, and it can do both things to your hair, and you can leave your hair wet. do you know what that is called? i was watching it on paid programing.

please help! any info will do! also i tried goggling these things, but only weird youtube videos came up.. ahh!!

i have the 2 inch red flat chi iron. and some old black iron. i use hair spray.

thanksPlease help on how to flat iron and curl my hair !!!?
Okay, all I can really help you with is the curling question. This is how I curl my hair-and it holds all day.

Begin by applying a styling gel, mousse or styling spray. Your curls will form better if you use good quality products.

Clip your hair back in multiple sections. Release one section and brush or comb it to remove any knots or tangles. Spray lightly with a soft-hold hairspray if your hair is very fine and doesn't hold curls well.

Begin with the undersection of your hair, working your way up to the top. Twist a small section of your hair with your hands for spiral curls, or take a flat, larger section for loose curls.

Curl desired hair

Roll the iron up and hold it for about 10 seconds.

Open the curling iron and release the curls. Proceed with other sections until all areas have been curled.

Flip your head and shake out the curls, then style your hair with your fingers.

Spray with a light hold hair spray to keep your curls in place.

Good luck and I hope I was of some help! Please help on how to flat iron and curl my hair !!!?
Keep practicing.
Well with the straightening part... do you use a clip to put the top layer of the hair up, while you do the under layer? If not this will help tons. Also straighting your hair for 7 years can do some damage, hopefully your using some pre-straightner product (can't think what its called :P but i use it, and love it) Maybe your straightner is old. I love my straightner I got at a salon, cost me $120 but is nearly imposible to burn your self, and its better for your hair. As for curling, with an iron, when your hair is wraped around the iron use a light hairspray, dove works great, and spray a few sprays, once all finished use a heavier hair spray, there are tons of products out there for different things, i would go to a salon and ask a proffesional, they will be able to help you tons!
  • matchless
  • brown hair
  • Which shampoo and conditioner would you recommend for my hair?

Ok so I have really thin hair that gets oily fast. I have layers and I like to have my hair straight but volumized. (I straighten my hair with a flat iron) My hair has allot of split ends but it's not crunchy, it's still soft. It's blonde and it's medium length.

What shampoo and what conditioner would you recommend for me?

(It doesnt have to be the same brand, I don't really care)

Also, any tips on how to style my hair?

    MUCH APPREACIATED!!!!

Love you all!! %26lt;3Which shampoo and conditioner would you recommend for my hair?

I use a Salon style blow dryer, ( Porcelain Ceramic by Babyliss Pro )

A two inch Round Brush ( Conair Ion Shine )

    Profectiv Mega Growth Anti-Breakage Strengthener

In order to get his hair pin straight with bounce and shine. I do the following.

After a wash. I lightly towel dry to leave some water in his hair. I message his scalp and hair with a small amount of Mega Growth then comb through with a large tooth comb.

I part the hair in small sections ( 1 1/2 inch think and 2 inch wide)

I take the brush and wrap the hair from the bottomside of the brush to the topside of the brush. Don't wrap the hair from top to bottom over the brush. This will not take care of the kinks the roots get. By wrapping the hair from under to over will get the brush to pull the hair straight at the root and the blow dryer will focus more on that area and make it straight and shiny.

Gently pull the brush down and make sure to have the blow dryer follow the brush to the ends. Once you've done this then you can wrap the hair over the brush from topside to bottomside. Do the same thing with the blow dryer.

WARNING! Make sure when your pulling the brush and the blow dryer that you go slow so the heat will actually dry the hair. I've seen the big poof that happens when you blow dry too fast. Go slow over the hair on the brush. This is what makes it straight and shiny.

After I do this through out his whole head, his hair is already straight and shiny. But to get it some staying power I just go through it with a Flat Iron. I have an inexpensive one by Conair which is the Conair Infinity 2'; .

I hope this helps. God knows it's helped his hair. What are some ways to straighten your hair?
Ive tried using the blow dryer but my hair is thick so it usually just ends up a big tangled mess! i recommend a CHI flat iron! i love it! worth every penny!
blow dry it by wrappiung your hair aroung a big brush meant for blowdrying and slowly pull your hair out while blowdrying it.

When I was in school a girl used alot of vasoline.
Usually you can blow dry your hair straight. My hair is really thick so it just makes mine poofy. I think you should get the Chi Flat iron!!!! It is so worth it! I bought it about a year ago and I鈾?it!!!! You could also go to the salon and get a perm, but that is really bad 4 your hair and when it grows out it will look wierd. Anyways, I hope this helps you!!

ok i got it! a straightener works good (be sure to use heat activated shampoo and conditioner to protect your hair) or a straightening serum. and for shiny hair??? i've done this and it works awesomely. pour about a 1/2 cup of vinegar (i know it stinks!) and leave in your hair for a couple minutes, then condition you hair. or rub honey in your hair and rinse it out. good luck!!

Do you think a guy using a flat iron to striaghten his hair is gay?

So many guys have straight hair and skater/punk hairstyles or even some normal people with emo hair. I'm sure they straightened it, but i was wondering if girls care if a guy straightenes his hair. Because on the packages of the striaghteners, which there are like 6+ brands, it only shows girls on the covers. So yeah, and i might striaghten my hair just for a change and to see how it looks, so thats another reason why im askingDo you think a guy using a flat iron to striaghten his hair is gay?
no... its HOT ... go for it, and if u don't like it, its not the end of the world, because its just a temporary thing. but guaranteed, girls with mostly like it %26lt;3Do you think a guy using a flat iron to striaghten his hair is gay?
your only gay if you take it in the pooper.....or put it in the pooper of another man.

i hope this cleared some things up.
As long as you don't spend as much time on your hair as *I* do on mine, there's nothing wrong with you using a straightener. Guys who care about their physical appearance are very sexy.

(Vulgar though it was, io is also correct.)
no your not gay, just cause you straighten your hair your not lots of my guy friends do it and none of them are gay
No it is not, my boyfriend uses a straightener almost every day, and I KNOW he is not gay. I also know a ton of guys who do it daily.

Give it a go, you might find you like the way your hair looks better when it is straightened.
Go for it ......no I don't think it is gay.
No its def. not gay, my friends use that all the time........and they are not gay......so no worries
No, I don't think it is. Just as long as you don't spend way too much time on it.
    Dude I don't care.

I actually like straight hair on guys.

I straighten my boyfriends hair all the time.

    Go for it.
    no!
I dont think its gay i actually like guys who take the time tostraighten their hair. I think it looks sexy. you should try it
I think it's cute. Definitely not gay.

    : )
    no defiantly not gay

they just care about what they look like

    which is a good thing

Straightening hair with a curling iron?

How do you straighten hair with a curling iron....i cant find my flat iron and i want to straighten my ahir...all i have is a blow drier and a curling iron... what should i do????Straightening hair with a curling iron?
you can blow dry it straight...if you have any product you can use put it in your hair first.

OR you can dry your hair straight...use your curling iron and start at the root and slide down your hair. You can either flip it slightly out at the end OR you can turn the iron upside down and have the end of your hair flip in. Either way looks cute!Straightening hair with a curling iron?
It can be done. Just put your hair in the iron as if you were going to curl it, just pull it straight down, and dont bump the ends.
instead of wrapping ur hair around it just hook it to the top of ur hair like a straigntner then go down :) it might curly under or our on the bottom though
If you take it from the roots then bring it straight down i think it will become straight if you dont have a flat iron.Hope i helped:)
umm.. let see you know how you use the curling iron you would turn it in circles to get your curls but if you want a striaght hair with a curling iron dont turrn it circle just use it like you are using straighting iron.... hope i help [it worked for me]

    1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?

I'm going the buy a Remington Wet 2 Straight Ceramic Straightener tomorrow because my sister has had one (2 inch) for a couple of years and I use it every time she comes over. It does the job, straightening and drying my hair in one easy step and makes my hair very sleek and shiny.

BUT I don't love how it makes my hair look so flat..with no body or volume, I guess because I've never tried curling or flipping it.

So...my question is...should I go with the 1'; or 2';? I have very long, thick, slightly wavy hair. They say ppl with my hair type should get the 2'; because it saves time but can I curl or flip with it?

    P.S.

Please don't tell me to go buy a $200 straightener, yes I know the price would be worth it in the long run but I'm freaking poor so just answer the question lol

    Thanks!1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?
go with a 2 inch, and for more volume

try flipping your head over and straightening

your hair. if you go with a one inch for

thick hair it may be hard to straighten it

but since 2 inches are normally also thicker

it will get the job done better and faster.1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?
    2
I've used both a 1 inch and a 2 inch flat iron. I have very thick, stubborn hair but I definitely preferred the 1 inch, because the size makes it much easier to use. I found the 2 inch clunky and hard to work with, and it really didn't save me very much time. I could pretty easily use the 1 inch for flipping and curling and even for adjusting my bangs.
i like the 1 inch irons better- you can use it to give you more volume, they're usually lighter, and they're easier to work with.

To get the volume, when you straightne your hair at the roots, don't pull it straight down- straighten your hair in a vertical motion, ulling the iron towards the ceiling, then pulling down when you reach the roots- this will get your hair straight at the ends, and volume at the roots.

even though its a wet to straight iron, NEVER straightne your hair when its wet- let your hair air dry first, then straighten it :)

    Good luck!

  • I need help with the way my hair comes out when i flat iron it? help please!?

when i flat iron my hair, even when i flip it inward, my ends ALWAYS end up flipped outward when i'm done with it, and it makes me sooo mad.

if i straighten it straight down, or inward, regardless, it flips out!! and i hate it!

what can i do to stop it from flipping outward?! or how can i straighten it better?!

btw, i have a solia flat iron, and use redken heatglide and v05 protectant spray.

help please.I need help with the way my hair comes out when i flat iron it? help please!?
that used to happen to me all the timee too so i bought this garnier fructis smoothing milk cream %26amp; it helps frizz and makes your hair flatter. after you apply that %26amp; heat protectant %26amp; make sure you brush through any tangles, hold the straightener on your ends for about 5 seconds, the amount of time depends on your straightener though, good luck (:I need help with the way my hair comes out when i flat iron it? help please!?
when you get to the ends of your hair, leave it on there a bit longer maybe?or keep going over it

worked for me lol same thing used to happen =)

What is the best way to straighten my hair without using chemicals?

I am a Black woman. I've chemically straightened my hair for almost twenty years (my Mom started it). I would like to stop using chemicals, and don't want to cut the already straightened hair... I don't want to do dreads or braids either since my hair texture is very thin and doesn't take braids very well. I also don't want to use the old fashioned stove hot combs.

I've seen the newer electronic ceramic hot combs? Do those actually work? How would it affect the already permed hair if I accidentally hot comb relaxed hair. Flat irons usually help my new growth, but I'm concerned about flat ironing long term. I have no problem with kinky hair. I'm afraid of hair breakage where the virgin hair and relaxed hair meets. I'm also open to anything else.

fyi... my hair type is currently thin and delicate, but soft. Virgin hair is semi-kinky. I must wash my hair every four days... any more and it gets dried and damaged, any less and it begins to get sticky, funky and unstylable. What is the best way to straighten my hair without using chemicals?
I am a natural black woman. When I transitioned from relaxed to natural, I found it's very easy to experience breakage if you don't cut off the relaxed hair. Since you don't want braids, have you considered straw curls? That's a good way to blend two textures. Also, I've never used an electric hot comb but I've heard they work. It may break off your hair at the weak point where the relaxed and natural hair meet. Good luck! What is the best way to straighten my hair without using chemicals?
Well you are going to have to let your perm grow out and since you have been using chemicals it's not good to use alot of heat. I don't know what to tell you but you are just going to have to weigh it out. But i do not advise putting any heat on it, well not 2 mcuh.
Sometimes it can be really hard to give a for sure answer to this question, being a black woman myself it seems like almost anything can be damaging to the hair. If you want your hair straight but don't want to use chemicals, i suggest getting your hair pressed. If its done the right way there shouldn't be any damage, just growth. Also keeping in mind the upkeep like trimming the ends. The downside is, if water comes in contact with that newly pressed hair theres no relaxer to fall back on. good luck
long first post so w/e, just try using straightening irons.

What is the healthiest way to straighten hair?

i have long, thick, moderately curly hair. i heart how it looks straight, so i really like to do that often. i know that it is nawt healthy for me to constantly straighten my hair with the flat iron, but i am still gonna do it! hahaha :] just wondering, is their a certain thing that you can do for your hair that will prevent some of the damage of straightening it ? or is their a certain product i can use in my hair to make it healthier ? [[ my hair stylist said that my hair is lacking protein, is their something i can do for it to add more protein ? and does it have to do with diet ? ]]What is the healthiest way to straighten hair?
eat meat and milk. that should help your hair. also look online for different foods with protien. you and go back and forth from using a regular straightner and a curling iron to straiten your hair. it might sound wierd but you can use a curling iron to straiten your hair. that might help it from being damaged. my hair is natrually strait so i don't own a straightner but this is the best info i got for youWhat is the healthiest way to straighten hair?
Wash your hair and blow dry it while brushing it. Perfectly straight without heat damage!(:
    HEAT PROTECTANT
Use a heat resistant spray. so the straightner wont burn your hair or fry it..

    =)

There isn't really a healthy way to straighten your hair, but there is a way you can minimize the damage that occurs by straightening it often.

Use heat protectant before blow drying and straightening. When your in the shower, deep condition every few days. Then invest in a very expensive straightener, like Amika. Unlike Revlons, Chi's, and Conairs, it's made of 100% ceramic so it will do minimum damage to your hair, unlike the other brands, which are made of metal with a ceramic *coating*. Try not to straighten your hair so much. But deep condition, heat protectant, and go down your hair shaft slowly when straightening, as opposed to 6 times, really fast. You'll get it done in the same amount of time, but you won't do as much damage to your hair.
The magic thing is called Hair protectant!

I do the same thing with my hair

Just ask the clerk at the store where to find hair product and bam!

How can I repair and prevent hair damage?

Hi there :) I've been straightening my hair with an iron for a good couple years now, and the damage is definitely starting to show. I've tried using sprays(to protect the hair) before flat ironing it, but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I know, I'm not supposed to straighten it daily, but it just bothers me so much if I don't straighten it.

Are there any products/tips that you can recommend so I might be able to give my poor hair a break? :D I've read about deep conditioning, but I have no idea how to do it and if it works well.

Anyways, thanks for any replies I really appreciate it!How can I repair and prevent hair damage?
    Healthy hair tips:

Use a moisturizing shampoo condtioner and leave in creme. I reccomened Neutrogena Triple Moisture, shampoo conditioner and deep recovery hair mask. It nourishes and

    revitalizes dry dull damaged hair to softer shinier healthier hair everytime you wash it, it might cost alot but it's worth it;

If you dye your hair alot, leave your hair alone and wait to dye it atleast 3 years later or so. Hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill dry/damage your hair.

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled and managable.

Comb your hair about 20 times each side so your natural oils can fall into the rest of your hair for natural shine

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week, Washing hair everyday strips the natural oils of your hair into duller dry hair.

Discontinue to heat style your hair or your hair will end up more dry/damaged, wait till it's completely healthy and maybe heat style once a week.

Avoid combing hair while wet, gently use a wide tooth comb, hair is very vulnerable while wet and can break off easily.

Don't put your hair into pigtails, buns or ponytails while wet, that causes split ends, breakage and damage.

Deep condition twice a week to bring back moisture to your hair.

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks to promote healthy hair grow and prevent split ends from happening.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, not with your nails, nails damage the scalp and nails tend to be dirty. it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water to open the hair cuticles.

While conditioner leave on for about 2-4 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to help seal the hair cuticles.

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair because of the alchohol it contains.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If hair is really dry, go to the salon to get a deep treatment on your hair.

Once a month use a special deep conditioning treatment like olive oil, vitamin e oil, mayonaisse, eggs, hot oil treatment, castor oil, coconut oil almond oil or avocado.

Take multivimains, vitamin e, follic acid or prenatal vitamins to promote healthy hair growth.

Drink lots of water for shinier/healthier hair and eat lots of protein and healthy food like meat, milk, cheese, peanut butter, eggs pasta, cooked beans and raw vegetables.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

While combing hair, comb it gentle to avoid breakage.

First of all use shampoo and conditioner for dry damaged

    hair, I recomend ';Silk Elements';

    And then lightly cover your hair in something called ';silk';

    It's like an oil.

You can do it before you streighten it and it will prevent dameage and add moisture to your hair.

This is what I do and My hair is very pretty.

    c:

I used to spin 6 to 7 hours streightening my hair, it's naturally curly and frizzy, and Now it only takes up to 45 minutes.

But my hair is pretty long so yea.

    You can find these products at any cosmetology store, I get mine from ';Sallys Beatuy suply';
You should cut your hair a little, to lose the popped and uneven ends and your hair grows faster after you cut it too. I use pantene 10x stronger, try that. Also, if you want to straighten then use a salon quality hair straightener. Go to your salon- Usually $140, I got one from a friend though (Maxi-glide- $80, and it works great. I use steam and low heat setting so it doesn't dry it out. Also some leave in conditioner will help protect it through the day. Umm Infusium treatment is good too.
Hey! I think I may be able to help you with your hair straightneing dilema! There is this product by Matrix called ';Sleek.Look'; and you just spray it onto the hair that you are going to straighten and then go to the next part of hair that you are going to straighten next. Never spray your whole head with the Sleek.Look spray at once because you can never straighten your whole head at once. But besides that, I use it every day and it prevents flyaways with single strands of hair that like to fly up, it prevents any further damage to the hair, and it also acts as a sort of spray, but the best part is that it smells REALLY good! ^_^ Hope that bit of info helps you!
I have some at home hair conditioners that you can make yourself, with instructions. =)

Also, you can buy them from the drugstore, and the instructions will be on the back incase you don't know how to do it.

How to get rid of split ends:

    1. Use specialist products that are designed to seal the splits temporarily in order to catch any splits that are shorter than the length you want to cut your hair to and to allow your hair to grow a little longer before you trim.

    2. Go for deep conditioning treatment every week, if possible and especially if your hair is prone to splitting, chemically treated or treated by ceramic straighteners. Conditioning is mandatory every time you have a chemical.

    3. Have a Trim regularly

    4. Avoid excess heat and too much brushing and combing and please don't brush, scratch or shampoo hair and scalp before any chemical service. Never hesitate to Invest in quality combs and real bristle brushes.

    5. Do shampoo your hair after a workout or strenuous exercise. The salt from perspiration will erode your hair. If you work out more than once a week, consult your stylist for your particular needs.

My hair is flat, looks dry and hairs stick out, remedies anyone?

My hair has no VoLuME! Its always flat, and looks so dry and unhealthy. I straighten it out with a hair iron, but that just makes it look even more flat. My hair likes to go in different directions and then some strands will be sticking out every way. Does anyone know how I can get some volume in my hair? Which store products work for volume, and are there any homemade remedies that can help? Thankyou u all. U rock, so does yahoo. My hair is flat, looks dry and hairs stick out, remedies anyone?

neutrogena hair creme, its kind of like a leave in conditioner.
Apple cider vinegar! I'm telling you it removes all the soap buildup, etc left on your hair - just be careful and don't get it in your eye!
    Use T/gel from neutrogena.

Ok I got my flat iron now how do I work with it?

Ok I just bought my first flat iron at Albertsons its a 20 dollar Conair straightener its this one http://www99.epinions.com/pr-Styling_Tools-Conair_Satin_Finish_3_4_Ultra_Slim_Ceramic_Straightener_CS4CS

Well I bought it I have herbal essences shampoo and conditioner and I was wondering if its any good and if i can have my hair straight now. Because I would just use this really crappy curling iron to semi straighten my hair but it never got my curs at the tips. just wondering if this will do the trick. How do I manuever it around my head as well. Much help would be appreciated.Ok I got my flat iron now how do I work with it?
Using a flat iron is alot easier than a curling iron. The difference is the speed in which you run the two across your hair. With the iron, first and foremost, you'll need some sort of heat protection sprayed or combed into your hair before you blow-dry. They make hair serum specifically for flat irons. Be sure to always use these! Hair is delicate!

Secondly, just run it through your hair like a brush. Grabbing pieces of hair into the iron, pulling straight down, past the ends. Repeat all over. may wanna get your Mom or a friend to do the back a few times. That part always gets left out...;)

Good Luck!Ok I got my flat iron now how do I work with it?
the shampoo does nothing and the flat iron is best used on one inch pieces of hair not very thick and you will clamp it down near your scalp over the hair and run it down to the tips. youll probably have to go over that piece of hair a couple times depending on your curls
Flat irons are the best! I need to get one for myself. The trick is not to close it all the way on your hair, but very loosely.
well first of all you should have bought a better flat iron if you really wanted it to work( you will get what you paid for.) and second of all you shouldn't use shampoo and conditioner that you can buy at the grocery store because it is not approved by the FDA and there are chemicals in them that do weird stuff to your hair. Anyways the easiest way to straighten your hair is going to be to wash it and blow dry it as straight as you can. Then you will want to pull you hair up in a clip and start by pulling it down in sections as thin as you can this will allow the hair to get straighter. Then just put your hair in it and apply pretty decent pressure and pull it down straight. hope all goes well.
Section your hair just like you were curling it. Also, be sure to use a hair product that protects your hair from the heat. Those flat irons get really hot and you don't want to fry your hair. If your hair is really coarse, you might want to change your shampoo and conditioner. Try something that might say smoothing on the label.
Do like everyone is saying small sections of hair at a time.it definitely takes practice.after a while you might want to step up to chi or any good ceramic one, you'll love it!

be careful not to burn yourself or your hair.just take your time, pretty soon you'll be a pro!

  • CHI Flat Iron Users--10 points to best answer?

I have very thick curly hair and I'm wondering if the CHI would be a good flat iron to purchase for straightening.

If you have a CHI, please let me know:

    1. Which one you have, (i.e. wet to straight, 1,'; 2';, etc)

    2. How curly / unruly or thick your hair is

(any pictures would be REALLY appreciated!)

    3. (Perhaps most importantly): How long does it take you to straighten your hair with this flat iron?

(and again, any pics of how straight you get your hair to look would be really appreciated!)

    4. If you have the wet to straight one, do you think this works well or do you think it can be damaging?

I'm looking to buy a CHI but my biggest issue with straightening is time. Please let me know how the CHI works for you!

Thanks!! =)CHI Flat Iron Users--10 points to best answer?
I swear by CHI it is the best straightener I have ever used. I have the CHI Turbo which is bigger than the regular. It helps if you have thick hair. My hair is very thick and long (a little past my shoulders) and it only takes me about 20 mintues. You really get what you pay for.

The wet/straight one might not work so well because your hair is thick and it might take a while but I'm not sure, I've never used it.

hope you get a CHI, it works wonders for my hair.CHI Flat Iron Users--10 points to best answer?

I have lots of wavy/frizzy hair almost to my waist. Lots of fly aways and when it dries, it is neither curly nor straight. Kind of poofy like a lions mane (which is what my hubby calls it). I have the 2 inch CHI flat iron, and have had it for about three years. I usually wash my hair the night before, let it air dry overnight, and flat iron it in the morning. I do this about every other day.

It usually takes me under ten minutes; I have to do the underside first and then the top layer because of the thickness. Once I finish straightening, my hair is completely flat, straight, and silky. I use an environmental sealer also because I color my hair and also live in a humid location so it loses the straightness a little if I don't seal it up.

Sorry, I am not comfortable posting pictures, but think: lions mane to flat straight and glossy. I will not be without my flat iron ever again.

    Hope I helped!
    Hi!!

    I have the Chi...

    1. I have the 1'; original model.

    2. I have a shoulder-length, very thick, sort of wavy hair. It works really good. My cousin has really pretty thick curly hair and the Chi made her hair really straight. Sorry, I don't have any pics to show you.

    3. It takes about 15 minutes to straighten my hair, but that is because I have VERY thick hair. Sorry, I don't have pics to show you. :(

    4. I haven't used the wet to dry flat iron but I heard it damages your hair. I suggest just buying the original Chi.

    I hope this helps you!!

also my hair is wavy and really long it takes like not even 30 mins
the Chi is great but the main thing to remember when you are straightning is to use small partings.(no matter what type you use)

How can I keep my flat-ironed hair straight? With humidity?

I straighten my hair after every shower with a flat-iron, solely because I hate my curly hair thats very thick. But I am in a band that plays shows which causes me to sweat and my hair to lose its straight. I was wondering how I can keep it from doing this in humidity and everywhere else.

I am open to chemically straightening it too, my hair is very strong and could handle it. But I was curious how the results are, when I get out of the shower and let it air dry will it be straight? Does it behave in the same way as flat-ironed hair does? How can I keep my flat-ironed hair straight? With humidity?
if you want to save yourself a lot of work, get it chemically straightened. its results are similar to just flat ironing it... and you don't have to spend forever on it. depending on how fast your hair grows, get the growth redone 2-6 times a year.

if you don't want to do the chemical thing, get paul mitchell super skinny serum at the mall (like 14 bucks). it won't frizz at all.

ooh, a band? fun-ness....How can I keep my flat-ironed hair straight? With humidity?
i have reallly thick hair and also curly.... i hate my hair when its curly 2.. i got my hair chemically straightened 2 times and it didnt do much.. but maybe u will have luck.

i was reading the answers, and what katie is reffering to is like hairspray,

the one i use is herbal essences dangerously straight

its pink, and its like a spray bottle, it isn't those that you hold down and all the spray comes out.

How can I treat burnt hair edges?

During the end of the summer I went to a new hair salon to get my hair condition and straighten. The lady that did my hair, straighten my hair with a ceramic flat iron and straighten my hair with a hot comb. Now when the hot comb touch my hair, she burnt me. When I wash my hair after two weeks, I realize my hair edges were rough and brittle. I was trying to grow my hair edge out by doing hot oil treatment every two weeks. Is there anything else I could do to solve this problem? How can I treat burnt hair edges?
    get a trim...

How can I treat burnt hair edges?
    trim them is about it
either you cut the edges or you treat it by hot wax, or wax solution.
    simple: trim your hair.
this will sound weird but totally works . put olive oil on your head and massage it into your scalp. then put it in a shower cap for 10-20 mins . get in the shower or over the sink to wash your hair. take the shower cap of and rinse the olive oil out. then wash your hair with a cheap clarifying shampoo towel dry dont brush till dry. PS only wash your hair 3 times a week its healthy and make it shiney. and saves money(:
    Trim the edges and condition.
Unfortunately even when we use the heat treatment remedies to keep the heat from ruining our hair they all just don't work that well. Straightening also does a lot of damage to your hair anyway. Once hair has grown and it has a problem like what you have the only way to get rid of this problem is to trim it off. Think of it this way ....If you burn your blouse from a cigarette ash, your blouse is burnt right? How would you fix it? You can't do anything but hide it, by sewing something over it, or throwing it away. The burnt part will always be there. Same with hair, you can spend a fortune on remedies to make if feel better for a few hours, but the burnt hair will always be there till you cut it off.

Get a trim and you will feel better that your hair feels better!
You'll need to make sure you trim off the dead ends. As much as all of those hair product companies want you to think their miracle product can ';heal'; your split ends... they can't be put back together. Those products basically just put a coating over the ends so they don't look split, but they still are.
Ugh I have the same problem, the ends of my hair used to be really brittle and frail, and burnt looking, and feeling! But now, I went and got it cute, and i use this hair serum thermal protection. It works great and all I do is just apply it to the ends of my hair and it makes it look super soft. good luck!

    please answer my question too

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
cut it... thats probably the only thing you can do..

    sry.

How can I straighten my hair without damaging it?

I don't want to chemically straighten it, I just wanna use a blowdryer or a flat iron (which ever is safer) to straighten it.

What can I use to straighten my hair everyday for lets say the next 2 or 3 years WITHOUT burning it or making it fall out.

Could you also back up what you're saying with a website or something? Thanxxxx in advance ....

What I do is use JOHN FRIEDA COLLECTION FRIZZ-EASE STRAIGHT AHEAD Shampoo and Conditioner whenever I shower, only shampooing every other day.

After that I apply JOHN FRIEDA COLLECTION FRIZZ-EASE Straight Answer Straightening Spray to my hair, combing it then blow drying as straight as possible with a round bristle brush.

Ceramic straigthers are really good because the plates are made of ceramic materials and ceramic protect your hair because they help lock in moisture and prolong hair color.

All flat irons do burn, but blow-waving your hair b4 can make it better. And heat proof spray is great too! Sometimes after i straighten my hair i gently use my hairdryer on cool on it to cool it down.

go to http://www.beautymonials.com - They have tips ranging from all hair types and especially the flat iron how tos.
Almost every brand of products has at least one thing that will help you to protect your hair while using heat.

    http://www.redken.com/products/displayPr鈥?/a>

Using a blowdryer or a flat iron every day is going to be damaging to your hair. There is no doubt about that. What you can do is repair your hair using deep conditioners like these (http://www.redken.com/products/displayBr鈥?/a>

Ceramic irons cause less damage to the hair but you are still going to have some damage. Never use the iron on wet hair even if it says you can. That is completely damaging.

The Chi and the Sedu are supposed to be the best. I have thick curly hair that has been bleached from dark brown to blonde that I straighten almost every morning and it is still shockingly soft becuase of all the products that I use on it.

Take good care of your hair and it will be fine.
ceramic straighteners are better. everything you do to your hair is damaging. make sure when you are goin to straighten your hair that you put some product on 1st so that if the drier or iron gets to hot it will burn the product before it gets to your hair. try not to straighten your hair everyday. that's the #1 way to fry, dry and thin your hair out. and if you can let your hair air dry before you straighten it, instead of using a blow drier. regularly condition your hair, brush it thoroughly throughout the day..
Having curly hair myself I straighten it quite often and my hair is healthy and in great condition. I would first get a haircut or just a trim to get the dead ends off. Having a good haircut that is healthy for your hair helps out a lot when it comes to styling it. If it's too long your ends can be fried and straightening will only further damage your hair. What I use to straighten my hair is ConAir products. I recently bought the new Infiniti Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener. It safely dries your hair while straightening it. After washing and conditioning your hair wrap it up in a towel until it's damp, not completely dry. Apply a mousse for soft hold or a gel for a sleeker, stronger hold. I also apply a straightening balm like RedKen Ultra Straight 12. Divide your hair in 4 sections, clip up 3 and leave one hanging to start drying. Using the conair straightener through your hair, from root to ends under and over so the hair doesn't look too uniform. Repeat the steps with the rest of the sections of hair. I usually go over my hair with the curling iron to get those pieces that the straightener missed AND to smooth it out. You may apply frizz serum or a polishing or shine serum to ends. I hope this and the websites I provided help you out. GOOD LUCK!

Curly haired people that straighten their hair?

omg i have them same probblem there are a copple of things u can do 1 buy and expensive one ore u can get a perm for your hair to be straight
You will need a decent striaghtener.

And use hair protecter spray. :)
    Hey

Im a hairdresser and this culd happen if u dnt dry all ur hair properly as there is still damp in ur hair and straightener will not react.

If this is happen wen u jus straighten it it is because ur hair is fly way so my advice wuld be to use a fly a way hair shampoo

Use a good straightening spray along with it...and take extra time at the ends of your hair when you're straightening, but not long enough to make a line. Also you should go inwards at the ends slightly when you straighten.
I use de-poof shampoo and conditioner by sunsilk which helps. Then I use ';spray it straight'; and blowdry thoroughly on a medium heat since blowing it straight on high heat causes too much damage for daily use. Then I press it with an iron. I recently went to the carribean and had very little problem keeping it bone straight with the humidity and my own natural oils and sweat prior to jumping in the ocean :)
    I've got thick wavy hair,

What I do to keep my hair straight? BLOWDRY!

Yes blowdry your hair first into shape, and then use a good straightener like a GHD, and go over the bit of hair a few times. Also don't wash your hair too much as this drys it out too much so wash once a week depending on the weather and work, also use a good anti humidity oil for your hair after you straighten to help keep the moisture at bay.

So go to a great hair house supplier and they should be able to show you the appropriate products you need to help.

THere's only one way to tame wavy hair and that's to use good products on it to protect it and keep it looking great!

  • How to straighten hair?

i have short wavy/curly hair im going to get it chemically straighten over the summer.... but i want to know if i can straighten it in a different way in the mean time.... also its almost 1 inch long(i think and aslo trying to grow it out). i tried to straighten it with a flat iron but my hair isnt that big. please list some ways i can straighten it.How to straighten hair?
I hate to say that I'm going to go along with everyone on this but for the moment:

1.) Either get a round brush and learn how to blow dry it straight, which will give you volume.

    or

2.) Go get a straightener but when you do you can find some that have a VERY small plate so that you can achieve the look you want but also straighten your semi-short hair; this way you don't get creases because the plates are too big.

    Good luck dear,

    xoxoxHow to straighten hair?
    A hair straightener..
    straightening iron
    gel, blow dryer, wax,etc
    With hot ceramics.
Use gel and a hair straitoner.
But the narrowest iron u can find and use a straightening lotion prior to styling.
if u want it permanently straightened get it chemically done.. ive had my perm for 2 yrs now and everytime i want it straightened i keep having to use a straightener and i do get tired of doing that.. but it would cost 75 to get it chemically straightened. (for me)
There are some very small hair straighters out there. Maybe you should try one of those?

    Blow dry it straight?

But 1 inch ..really isn't that long at all. You may just have to let it grow in order to do anything with it.
there are available straigthening shampoos and creams in the market that you can use to temporarily solve your problem. And they're not that expensive.
try and find a really small flat iron ,those work the best for shorter hair and use products to aide in like a smoothing serum
    greese and hair gel
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8%26amp;鈥?/a>
use a straightening iron, flat iron (there are a couple names for it)

you can go and buy yourself one (there are several different places where you can get one)

**they're not too expensive and they are almost like a curling iron, yet there flat (to of course straighten the hair)

! they work really well if you want to get that fast, nice and just freshly cut kind of look !

    hope that helped! xoxo
they have these things i think they are called hot combs. the comb part is made outta some kinda metal and you heat them up on the stove or something. but i know my mom used to have short hair and that's what she used. you have to be really careful though cause they are really hot and get really close to your head.

Okay how does Oprah straighten her hair, if she is using heat how does itr manage to stay looking so healthy?

does she have some miracle deep conditioner, or what? And why doesn't she do a how with her hairdresser to let us know, when I press my hair with a flat iron well after a while it is just fried. so what do you think?Okay how does Oprah straighten her hair, if she is using heat how does itr manage to stay looking so healthy?
I haven't watched Oprah on a regular basis in a few years, but some people say she's mentioned from time to time that she used to wear wigs to protect her hair. Although, I think her curly hairstyle was a rollerset rather than a curly wig. I've seen shows where she's shown her morning before-the-show routine and she gets her hair washed every morning before the show. This was several years ago, though. If you want to know more about her routine then you might want to e-mail her (she reads summaries of ALL her mail, according to her) and if enough people are as curious as you and write letters then she might do a short segment on it. It's kind of funny, because I used to love the show Alias and a lot of fans of the TV show wrote Oprah at the same time asking for her to have Jennifer Garner (star of Alias) on her show and a few months later Oprah did a (very) short segment on Jennifer G. So, it does work if enough people write in and ask for it.

Keep in mind that she has her own hairstylist, Andre Walker, and he's been with her since nearly the beginning of her show, and he's also written a book about hair care and invented the hair typing system that many hair websites use today. He understands Oprah's hair inside-out. So, Oprah isn't doing her own hair, she has her own professional taking care of it every day. If your own hair is getting fried then you might want to turn down the temperature, use a better heat protector, or find a better, more expensive flat iron, or, maybe not flat iron it as much if it's damaged.

I think Oprah's hair looks so good because she has someone who understands healthy hair practices taking care of it. Oh, and she's a billionaire, so she can afford to have people make her own hair care line, although I don't think that's the case, but still, if her hair looks that darn good then I'd buy it!

BTW, I never thought Oprah to have or wear a weave, because I've seen her hair before on previous shows, like during a Tom Cruise segment when she had to tape a short segment before the audience was in the building and she was on camera without her make-up and hair undone. The only thing I didn't know is that during some point over the years she had transitioned back to her natural hair.Okay how does Oprah straighten her hair, if she is using heat how does itr manage to stay looking so healthy?
before u worry about stylinq ur hair you have to make sure its health or else its qonna look bad and unhealthy.

idk what texture of hair u have so its hard to help you.

for me, and deep conditioner (aussie 3 minute reconstructer oriqinal formula) and a leave in (cantu shea butter leave in) have turned my hair aroundas fasr a health. rolersets are also a healthy alternative to direct heat and look fabb. :]

and yupp she has a stylist lol.
she has a wive. which is like a wig but strands of hair sewn in your head. and she probably puts a relaxer in her hair, which is a perm for her type of hair, she also has the best hair dressers with a deep condition treatment weekly
I don't know what she does, but if you want a straightener that's good for your hair, get a Chi wet to dry straightener. Its better for your hair than drying, plus saves you the time it takes to dry AND straighten.
chi products work wonderfully! I have been straightening my hair for YEARS and coloring it and its just as healthy as some of my friends that don't do anything to theirss.
she gets her hair hot combed and deep conditioned often.

she talked about it on her show the other week.

How to i straighten my hair and keep the body??

Because everytime i straighten my hair it looks REALLY flat and i want it to be straight but i also want to keep the fullness....is that possible with a flat iron? What do i have to do???? 0_oHow to i straighten my hair and keep the body??
-Use less conditioner when washing your hair as it weighs it down.

-Buying shampoos and/or conditioners that volumize your hair.

-Apply a root lifter serum to your hair when damp and when it's almost dry, tilt your head upside down and blow-dry [works the best].

-After straightening your hair, back comb/tease it and hair spray it there.

Those are really the main things you want to try, it's not too hard. If none of those work, which is highly impossible... then it'd be best to invest in some high quality hair products specifically for this reason.

Good luck !!How to i straighten my hair and keep the body??
I have short curly hair and I experience the same problem. What I found is that if i straighten the hair straight up, it keeps a lot of lift, then I just put it where i want it and hairspray it.
keep it natural because god give us the look so we must appreciate it. anyway, girls are beautiful with their original look
pretty much you have to create lift at the root. take a rattail comb and then after you part the hair take the tail of the comb and hold up volume at the root while the straighten the rest downward... kind of hard to explain, but yes, you can keep volume when using a flat iron
After you straighten your hair (this will work if your iron has a really long lasting impact) the next time you shampoo try using a extra volumizing conditioner and shampoo. A good quality company is Matrix. And anyways people die for curly hair. Why do you want yours straight?
    straightners+teasing=love.

after your done straightning your hair, tease your crown.

it will look really funny at first but after you situate it and brush it out a little, you'll have incredible body that lasts all day with a touch of hairspray!

after dong it time and time again, you'll get really good at it!

    good luck!

???FLAT IRONS? HAIR STRAIGHTENERS? Do you use these products???

How bad is it to straighten out ur hair with a ceramic flat iron every day??

What's the long term damage that ur doing to ur hair???

Why do most people that flat iron there hair seem to take a shower every other day????

If u flat iron your hair how often do you do it; %26amp; do u take a shower every day when your hair is flat ironed?????

What's the best hair heat protection that u could use when you straighten out you hair with a hair straightener?

~';THANXZ';~ =+)???FLAT IRONS? HAIR STRAIGHTENERS? Do you use these products???
I flat iron my hair everyother day meaning I don't wash my hair everyday OF COURSE PEOPLE WHO STRAIGHTEN THEIR TAKE A SHOWER EVERYDAY EVER HEARD OF A SHOWER CAP I have a pure ceramic straightener but no matter what kind you have straightening everyday will cause damage more than doing it less often. I use Paul Mitchell super skinny serum to protect my hair. And when I don't wash my hair I use a shower cap to keep my hair dry and if a little bit got wet I just blowdry it. I don't know what you mean by long term damage hair grows out and you can trim it.???FLAT IRONS? HAIR STRAIGHTENERS? Do you use these products???
most people who straighten their hair and take showers every other day do so because it is such a painstaking process to use the flat iron, and once they *FINALLY* get their hair straight, it will stay that way as long as they dont take a shower, so they wait an extra day so they dont have to straighten again for one day
A CERAMIC FLAT IRON IS BETTER THEN USING A REGULAR FLAT IRON. HOWEVER YOU STILL SHOULDN'T USE IT EVERYDAY.

I TAKE SHOWERS EVERY DAY AND I FLAT IRON MY HAIR ONCE A WEEK. TO KEEP MY HAIR FROM GETTING MESSED UP I WRAP IT AT NIGHT. BIO SILK PRODUCTS ARE GOOD AND GARNIER SMOOTHING MILK IS GOOD.
When I flat iron my hair, I take a shower every other day, but I wear a shower cap and dont wash my hair for about 3 days
    well first,

Straightening your hair with a ceramic flat iron is good because it traps the moisture in your hair making it silky smooth,

the damage is that you hair will get split ends, but trimming may help.

Showering is good! use a good conditioner to make you hair smoother and silkier when you straighten your hair,

You DON'T have to wash your hair everyday when you flat iron it, if you straightened it really good then you can just loosely put your hair in a pony tail and sleep with it so the next day you can wear it still straight without the damage of flat ironing it everyday.

the best heat protection is Treseme they have a new line of lotions and creams for you hair and also sprays, so if you want to straighten it or curl it they have what you need.

    hope that helped!
A ceramic flat iron is the best for you hair. It keeps moisture in. The long term damage is split ends but getting your hair trimmed regularly will help that. If you are going to do it though, don't straighten it every day, shower AT MOST every other day and make sure you hair is completely dry before you start straightening or else you'll fry your hair.

Good luck, once you start, it's hard to stop.
Flat ironing is damaging. I suggest using a heat protector and getting regular trims because it does cause splits. You can use chi oil, bed head AfterPary which smells wonderful, or Matrix Sleek look flat iron spray. Also you should go as long as you can without shampooing, at least 2 -3 days.

Dry your hair with a towel, leave it damp (a little wet) then put in the sunslik creme, blow dry your hair. then straighten it.

^^^^hence before straightening doing it after wont do anythingWhats a good way to scrunch your hair?? Sould I buy the FHI Flat iron?
    Hi there :)

I can answer one of those questions- The scrunching one.

I use Garnier Fructis Curling Mousse, and it works GREAT!

I dry my hair of a little bit, put in into a bun for 20 minutes, take it down, and shake it out. Then, you apply a good amount of the mousse into your hand, and run your fingers through it and scrunching it. Don't repeat over the same spot too many times, because then it will not stay scrunched.

As for the flat iron? I have the Chi, and it's originally 200 dollars. I got mine on sale for 100.

It's the best flat iron you can get, and it's worth the money. It will last you 5 year minimum :)
