How to hair care for afro american teens?

I have a mixed grandaughter with afro american hair, that even if we splurge for the hair straightening (blow dryer and flat iron) hair do it only lasts a couple of days. Is there a way to wrap the hair at night to prolong the style? How to hair care for afro american teens?
Talk with your granddaughter's stylist about her specific type of hair. Wrapping the hair will prolong the style but if you want straight hair and her hair is not naturally straight she will need touch-ups if she has a chemical relaxer. Many teens start getting their hair relaxed about 13 years old and there are products specifically made for children.

There are plenty of alternatives for natural hair as well so speak to a professional who is familiar with her hair. How to hair care for afro american teens?
Hi i'm mix also if you or your grandaughter want her hair straight for a while get a virgin relaxer like twice a year. Plus the heat isn't good at all you can press it out, but soon as moisture get on it it will go to the last stage of the afro again or the curly look . Good luck
Chemicals gets it straight fast and last for 3 to 5 weeks depending on the texture. I would NOT recommend that for a mixed person seeing that they usually have wild curls that are pined after by many. Go to any black hair store and they will show you a huge amount of products that can help keep her hair straight.

And yes wrapping her hair in a counter clockwise motion helps keep her hair that way longer, try silk or silk like night caps those work wonders. If all else fails take her to a styles and have them suggest NON chemical products SPECIFICALLY for african/black hair types. The reason this is crucial is because majority of us (blacks) have fragile hair that gets dry easily because the lack of natural oils produced by our scalps.
