How to straighten hair with flat iron?

My hair is really dry and wavy/cury. I tried to straighten my hair with a flat iron and it became really frizzy and puffy. I heard theres some kind of spray you're supposed to use but i have no idea what it is and where to get it. Any suggestions? Or is there anything else i could use. Also is there a less damging way to straighten hair?How to straighten hair with flat iron?
i barely use anything, and i straighten it 5 days a week. And the only thing I use is a heat protection spray. Plus, the only reason your hair is still puffy is cause maybe you didn't do it in sections. If you just went over your hair all in one, that won't do much. put up the rest of your hair, let down your last layers, straighten, and then let down some more. that's what i do. plus, the flat iron might not be good. That's teh biggest problem. I used to have a Conair, and it was the worst. It didn't do anything. Now, I have a Sedu. It's $130, but deff worth it.How to straighten hair with flat iron?
OMG my hair is exactly like that. okay heres what I do. Use herbal essences none of your frizzness shampoo and conditioner. Use more conditionor and at the end rinse with cold water this gets rid of frizzes. When you get out of the shower put on herbal essences none of your frizzness cream. This is so good for frizzy hair. get a blow dryer and dry your hair until slightly damp/dry. I use a wet2straight straightner. Put the top of your hair in a bun. divide bottom sectio into 2 inch sections. Spray with tresemme thermal creation heat tamer spray. This protects your hair from any damage from the straighter. Spray each section as you straighten. In the end when your complete put on the none of your frizzness cream. this is what i do and my hair is not frizzy at all in the end.
i start with a heat protectant as well, i use sedu but i am sure any brand would work. you can buy it at any drug store or hair salon. then if you have layers like i do seperate the layers using clips to hold the top ones up. next starting with the bottom layer, start at the roots and gently go over it, i go over mine 3 times. then you bring the next layer down and do that one. then i use a finishing spray, dont use too much because then your hair will look greasy. i hope that this helped and if it doesn't go on youtube and im sure they got a video or something.
Hot irons can be really drying - best to use on hair that is it top form. I would say use a good conditioner, wrap hair in towel for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture and blow dry straight using a brush or comb. Use iron by starting at the roots to the ends and finish with a humidity resistant spray. Cover your hair if it is raining.
awww shame...i HAD that problem...firstly invest in a shampoo and conditioner thats very moisturising, as curly hair tends to be dry, and that will already add to the outcome. Ok...now you HAVE HAVE HAVE to use a heat protecting creame or spray...to protect your ends and prevent damage to your hair...straitning irons are very hot. then divide your hair into small sections and start ironing. if i was u...i would invest in a GHD! OMG! it has made my life soo much easier as it keeps in the straightness and prevents frizz. finish off with a good salon serum like paul mitchell skinny serum or biosilk to prevent the puffiness and to add shine. if all else fails...straighten it at a salon. lol...but that can also cause hair breakage and hair loss.

hope this helpz

mwuhz..=]
Try using CHI silk infusion... don't put on too much and then use your straightener and your hair should come out looking nice and silky (helps lessen the damage to your hair). It also works best with the CHI iron (which is pretty expensive, so its understandable if you can't afford one)... a ceramic hair straightener would be better for your hair than a metal one.
You should start off with a heat protectant (Tresse me) and spray it onto wet hair. Then, you should put in a straightening cream; A lot of different people make them. I use the pink kind by Sunsilk. Once you use both of them I seperate my hair into layers and run my straightner over each of the pieces three times to get it perfectly straight. If you need more of the stuff by sunsilk to calm flyaways, apply now.
there is always a professional straightening thing, it permanently straightens your hair, you get this done at a hair salon.

if the flat iron doesnt work, do what some people do, get your clothes iron and just simply iron your hair, if its to hard, have a friend help.

use your ironing board though lol.
i highly recommend Japanese hair straightening. i have very thick hair and it got much more manageable after the straightening. but no matter what- make sure you are going to a professional who knows what they are doing! make sure to meet with other people that got it done with him/ her/ the salon. getting referrals for this will be your best bet.
